Beaches in Ammouliani

Karagatsia beach

Karagatsia beach is located about 3 km from the port of Ammouliani. It is a small beach, it is essentially a small creek with sand and in and out of the sea. The seabed at this point, is special and is a pole of attraction for those who love spearfishing but also those who have as a hobby diving with a mask and snorkel. The marine world at this point is special and is characterized by large rocks at the bottom of the sea, where they are full of shells and other species of marine life that impresses. There is a canteen on the beach offering sandwiches and coffees.

Alykes beach

The most famous beach of Ammouliani, the largest in length on the island, organized with umbrellas and sunbeds in three places. In two of them there is a beach bar, while in the center you have the opportunity to do water sports. Alykes is located in the southern part of Ammouliani and overlooks Sithonia. The distance from the main settlement is very short compared to the other beaches.

Megali Ammos beach

Megali Ammos beach is located about two kilometers north of the center of Ammouliani. It is considered one of the best on the island, thanks to its high sand, shallow water, which makes it ideal for families, but also the fact that it is not so well known, so it is never full. Near the beach there are several taverns and some hotel complexes.

Agios Georgios beach

A double “hug” of blond sand with a few umbrellas and sunbeds on the road that leads to Megali Ammos. There is a cafe and a tavern, while it has a wooden pier for the boats that arrive here

Drenia Islands (Donkey Islands)

East of Ammouliani is the complex of islands Drenia, or Gaidouronisia. The complex took its name from the largest island, Drenia. The others, which are smaller, have names like Feti, Penna, Artemis etc. In the old days, only the inhabitants of Ammouliani went to the island of Drenia to celebrate Shrove Monday. Today it is a tourist destination with umbrellas, sunbeds, tavern-refreshment etc. You can easily reach by boat from Ouranoupolis, or you can rent a boat to explore the islands and their beaches one by one
